It has been said "If you aim for nothing, you will most definitely hit it". I can remember my freshman year in college, I had a 1.8 GPA. I was not concerned with any vision for my school work until I received a letter about Academic Probation. They gave me a goal of a 3.0 GPA or go home. The vision at that time was clear. I had better get serious about this school work or I would no longer attend thier University. Sometimes when others don't have vision, our vision can help them get to the next place in life. I set some things in place and got a 3.4 GPA the next semester.
I was behaving like a whole different person. Below is a very short explanation on the why, the what and how of vision. Over the next few posts we will go deeper into each question.
Why do we cast vision?
If you aim for nothing, you will most definitely hit it.
Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint;
but happy is he who keeps the Law. Proverbs 29.18
Desire without knowledge is not good-
how much more will hasty feet miss the way! Proverbs 19.2
What do we do with the vision?
Write it down and make a commit your plans to the LORD. You want God's results, you've got to do it God's way.
Then the Lord replied:
"Write down the revelation
and make it plain on tablets
so that a herald may run with it..." Habakuk 2.2
Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in Him and He will do it. Psalm 37.5
How do we make the vision happen?
Like Nike say, Just do it.
There is profit in all labor,
but mere talk leads to poverty. Proverbs 14.23
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for the realm of the dead, where you are going, thre is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom. Ecclesiastes 9.10
What can we look forward to when we see the vision in real life?
Encouragement. Those watching are fed by your vision becoming fruit for them. It will lead to seeds of life being planted in your life and those around you.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but desire fulfilled is a tree of life. Proverbs 13.12
Your vision is not just for you, but for those who will be blessed by your vision. They are waiting. Go and make it happen.
